Modernisation Helps Introducing "Swine Flu" to the World

In this period, Swine flu or A influenza is one of the current issues that most people are concerning. It is the popular issue which being ahead of the world’s economic crisis and global warming at this moment. People around the world can be easily affected by the result of the virus, as a major concern.

Many news organizations herald information to people everyday. The number of deaths and, especially, infected are increasing in some countries around the world. Swine flu has quickly threatened us since April in Mexico and continuing to America, America to Europe and now Asia.Meanwhile, WHO and governments are questing for protection and cure to get the best solution in each country.

I would like to point out another factor that help ease this virus, H1N1, becomes quickly spread throughout the world.

TECHONOLOGY or MODERNISATION, it is.

Technology comes along with modernization where people are developed and tredier. Technology has both positive and negative sides. It helps ease people’s lives and so does swine flu’s. There are factors that lead swine flu effects in countries so how technology or modernisation leads the flu.

The cause of swine flu is arisen from A Influenza; the same virus occurs in avian flu, human flu and pig flu and has developed into a new virus generation, H1N1, which has pandemic potential from animal to human and human to human.
Interaction is one nature of human which becomes an important factor that helps spread the flu.

So what explained the case of how swine flu has entered Asia was that Mexican people carried virus and travelled across the world by airplane to Asia! It took like 18 hours or 1 day maximum from America to Asia which means swine flu can speed can spread throughout the world depends on each flight destiny. It is as quick as computer virus.

In ancient time, epidemic spread out within only community or surrounding area and took times to broadly spread because of undeveloped technology such as transportation. Villagers transported by carriage, cart, or junk or stream engine which slowed down the virus in spreading out unlike the developed society, where transportation is much faster such as train, speed boat, car, bus, metro, or airplane which rush everything into lesser time.

Hence, medical protection was much powerful than today. Since, doctors or medicinal had a chance to research and develop a proper medical cure.

Department of Disease Control (DDC) must take it as a serious action in order to prevent or least number of people infected within the country. Especially, Thailand and other neighbor countries should be aware of this new kind of virus since it has spread to our land. Even though, Thailand doesn’t have any infected. There are many possible ways of the virus infection not only that I mention but also in Thailand border area where preventive is still lack and overlooked. Like, South Korea where the flu has just originated itself, without infected people from outside country. The international pandemic alert to phase 4 where infected country has announced to phase 6, the highest scale.
However, we should be open to the situation not too panic but be prepared. I only hope that this time technology will play the positive side, as its fastness, to come up with the cure to the virus.
